Welcome to the Kellogg Club

Pool Season for 2010!

Kellogg Club
2010 Pool Season

Welcome
We want to welcome all members and especially our new members to the Kellogg Club 2010 pool season.  This season will prove to be memorable for all!
This year the Club pools will open on May 29th and close for the regular season on September 6th (Labor Day Holiday).   In addition, we have contracted to have the pools open for a last hurrah on the weekend of September 10th-12th if the weather permits.   Much of our pool and swim team information will be periodically updated on the Club website- Look for an announcements of upcoming events, etc.!

New Additions – Patio Area and Playground
This year the Club has completed two new important additions to the grounds that support your enjoyment of our pool facilities.  A new brick and stone patio has been completed adjacent to the Pump House to add seating and more barbeque space.   Also, a new fenced- in playground area has been constructed and a new playground set has been installed.  This playground area, while adjacent to the pool area for convenience, is not part of the pool operation.  Lifeguards and Pool Staff are not responsible for supervision of the playground area.  Parents/Guardians and Nannies are responsible at all times to supervise their children at play in the playground area.

Pool Management
This year, we have re-hired Loeffler Pool Management Company to manage our daily pool operations and supervise our lifeguard staff.  Dave Miller (previous Pool Manager) will be the pool manager again this year and will be on duty during regular pool hours.  Mr. Rob Caccio is the new Assistant Pool Manager and he will be on duty when Dave Miller is off.  If you have questions while at the pool, these two gentlemen should be your primary contacts.

Pool House Health and Safety
To ensure safe use of the shower/bathroom areas all pool patrons must wear appropriate footwear, i.e. flip-flops, shower shoes or surf shoes of some type.  We ask that parents ensure their children have their footwear on when heading to the shower/bathrooms.

Swim Team
There will be a parent/swimmer meeting on June 13th at 4:00PM to review the team philosophy, schedule and to sign our swim team pledge and code of conduct. Ice Cream too!!

Practices will begin Monday June 14th. The schedule has changed from last year. We split the age groups, which will allow us to provide a more personal practice plan for each swimmer. And it will allow us to provide more support for our new beginning swimmers! Again look on the web for the schedule and any changes during the season. Changes will be posted by 1:00PM if there are any meet or practice changes.

Go to the Swim Team link on the website for more information and registration.

Social Events and Activities

There will be numerous events and activities during the upcoming summer.
We always need volunteer parents to make this happen. Let me know if you want to host an event.

They include:
  •   Fourth of July Party and parade- this one gets bigger and better each year;
  •   Friday night cookouts and late pool closings,- we will formalize a few of these and provide supervised fun and movies for the kids;
  •  Porch and Patio Party (Saturday, July 31st)- this is our fantastic, dinner party around the pool which is proceeded  with cocktails and then followed with dessert and after dinner drinks  at the historical homes near the club- get your reservations in early for this event. The pools will close early on this day to support set up of this event.
  •    Friday night Movie night for the kids July-August- once a month
  •    Labor Day closing party

Children’s Graduation / Birthday Parties
You may want to consider having your child’s party at the Kellogg Club pool.  When compared to other venues, the pool is very competitive. These tend to schedule quickly! Please contact the Pool Manager if you are considering this option to discuss availability and cost.

Sign-In Procedures

Only members in good standing will be allowed into the pool area. If you have not yet completed payment for membership fee please take care of this before going to our pool facility.  When entering the pools area from the rear of the property be sure to check in with the pool staff at the front gate.

Guest Policies
Last year’s guest policies remain in effect; the guest fee are $6 per person.  You can buy a book of ten guest passes in advance for the discounted price of $50.  Guest passes are one time use, but will not have an expiration date so you can use  your remaining passed from 2005 -2009.    Passes are non-refundable.  You may want to keep your passes in your pool bag for your convenience.

If paying at the gate, you must pay by check or with exact change, we do not have the resources to process cash on the premises.  If you don’t have the guest passes or a check, please do not ask the guard on duty to make an exception.

You can buy books of ten guest passes at the pool house. Please see the Pool Manger.  Remember checks only! See purchase form enclosed!

    Swim Lessons
We will provide free swim lessons for children four and under (based on sign-ups and availability). See pool manager to sign up.
All other lessons will be on an individual bases and can be coordinated through the swim team coaches/ and or the pool manager.

Pool House
A snack vending machine is located inside and a soda/ water vending machine is available outside.  As an experiment this year during July and August we will also be offering ice cream bars/sandwiches for sale at $0.50 each.  Books of ten ice cream tickets will be available at the pools for purchase.    Ice cream items will be in the freezer located in the Pool House kitchen area – one ticket for one ice cream.  Additional improvements to the Pool House (bathroom/shower-room) upgrades are planned, but will need to be part of next year’s budget process.

Full-time Nannies and Baby-sitters and Extended-Stay Relations:
An extended stay relation fee is $150. The Nanny/Full-Time baby-sitter fee is $150. They must sign in with a lifeguard every day.
Baby-sitters and Nannies must be in the water at the shallow end with a non-swimming child, or at the edge of the wading pool.
Baby-sitters may not leave the children they are watching unsupervised.

Please feel free to call me any time you have an issue or concern about the operations of our pools.   Have a safe and fun summer, and see you at the pool!
