House & Grounds

Updates for 2010

House and Grounds Update.

Please mark your calendar for the Spring Clean up!   Our target date is May 1.

The more volunteers the better.  With the right number of helping hands, the cleanup can be a fun morning of coffee, donuts, and a couple of rakes.

The House and Grounds team is ready to shake off a long, snowy winter and take on an exciting list of projects in 2010!

This year the H&G Committee includes Tom Rosenkidle, an architect who has worked on several projects for the club and Rob Crofford, who hopes his business management experience will round out the team.  We welcome the challenge and feel privileged to lead the management, maintenance and restoration efforts of our club’s beautiful mansion and property.

Our predecessors Todd Talarico and Rich Tranfield accomplished some major milestones, including the restoration of the cottage.  We would like to thank all who worked very hard on that project.  The restoration and rental of the cottage has given us the ability to shift the focus back to core projects in the main house.

The primary main house project is the restoration of the Ball Room.  Extensive plans include painting, plaster repairs, molding and fireplace restoration.  Attention to details and adherence to original design will be a priority as we return the room to top shape for both club and member sponsored events.

In anticipation of a summer filled with long days at the pool, we have plans for additional space for the habitual barbecue crowd.  The installation of a patio by the pump house will provide room for two new picnic tables.   If the budget allows, we also hope to install a new playground for the club’s young swim team champs in training.

We look forward to a successful year of projects!
