Learn to swim! Make a new friend! Be part of the team!
The Kellogg Club Swim Team has a rich history of being the cornerstone of the summer season at the pool. Over 85% of our children are on the swim team. For a new member, this is a great way to make new friends and immerse your family in the KC culture.
We are a summer program with goals to have fun, learn skills and be a team member. Our program is instructional, but we also have state and nationally ranked swimmers. Due to social distancing rules, we can no longer provide hands on instruction in the water. The swimmer must be able to swim a full lap on their own in order to participate.
2020 SWIM TEAM SEASON

All swim team parents and participants must read the New Pool Rules and Regulations.
All parents must sign and bring The Kellogg Club COVID-19 Disclaimer Form upon the first visit to the pool. Swimmers cannot participate without this parent form on file.

The total cost: one child is $130, two children $225, three children $315 and four children $385. Pay online via PayPal or drop off a check at the mansion's mailbox (next to front door). Swim Team Practice Schedule:
Starts Monday June 29th.
Ends Friday July 31st.
11 and over practice: 7:30am - 9:00am
9/10 practice: 9:00am - 10:00am
8 and under practice: 9:45am - 10:45am
We will be including dry land into this year’s practice to accommodate how many swimmers can be in the pool at a time.
For families that have multiple children, you have the option to follow the above schedule or keep your children together at practices. If families choose to keep children together, the younger sibling will swim up unless they are an 8 and under. For example: if a family has two children, one being 10 years old and one being 7 years old, the 10 year old will swim in the 8 and under age group. If a family has two children, one being 9 years old and one being 12 years old, the 9 year old will swim up in the 11/12 age group/11 and over age group.
****Please note the following social distancing swim team rules****
- There will be a max of 8 swimmers in the pool at a time due to social distancing: 1 swimmer in shallow end, 1 swimmer in deep end per lane
- Swimmers must come in their swimsuit and leave in their swimsuit (special cases will be permitted if a swimmer needs to change, given coach approval).
- Only one swimmer will be allowed to use the bathroom at a time during practice.
- Swimmers will not be allowed to loan each other caps or goggles this season due to health concerns (unless they are siblings).
- Swimmers are not allowed to share water bottles (i.e no water falling each others’ water) unless they are siblings.
- Swimmers are required to have their bags on deck 6 ft apart, preferably on the side of the pool closest to where they will enter for practice (i.e not allowed to have their bags at the picnic tables, on the grass, or at the pool house).
- Swimmers who arrive early to practice will wait either on the grass or at the picnic tables before moving to the deck after the previous practice has ended.
Swim Team Meet Schedule:
Meets will take place on Saturday mornings 8:00am - 10:30am.
July 11th breaststroke
July 18th backstroke
July 25th butterfly
August 1st - All Star Meet
To adhere to the new procedures and policies, all practices and meets will take place at Kellogg prior to the pool opening. The meets will be scored based on times, as we will be virtually competing against each Jockey Hollow League club for every meet. Parents/families are welcome to attend the meets, but must abide by all social distancing requirements. We ask that parents stay off the pool deck during meets unless they are volunteering or escorting their child to their event to allow for the social distancing. Parents will be responsible for ensuring that their children are in the right place and time for the events they are swimming.
Parent Volunteering Sign Up
All practices and meets require a Social Distancing Coordinator. At every meet, we also need a Starter, Runner, Photographer, 2 Timers, 2 Marshalls and 2 Ribbon Writers. With fewer participating families this year, we need your help. Parents are required to volunteer for at least 3 meets (any role) and at least 1 Social Distancing Coordinator position during practice. We greatly appreciate your support and understanding as we pull together and do our collective best to make this season possible for our kids.
